Shortly after signing with Roadrunner Records in 1991, the band released their debut, Slow, Deep and Hard. However, before discussing the end of Type O Negative, one must delve into their beginnings, so let us get started. A part of the underground success in Brooklyn, the band became best known outside of New York for their third studio album, 1993’s Platinum success, Bloody Kisses. Formed in 1989, Type O Negative (TON) was comprised of Vocalist/Bassist Peter Steele, Guitarist Kenny Hickey, Keyboardist Josh Silver, and Drummer Sal Abruscato. Hailing from the borough of Brooklyn, New York, Type O Negative were the pinnacle of the American Gothic Heavy Metal scene. ![]()
